Although it doesn't have seasons, the EverymanHYBRID series as a whole can be subdivided into different periods. These periods are characterized by different story arcs, goals, and tone. This page contains two summaries of the story so far: a brief summary for people unfamiliar with the series, and a longer summary for those who have more time and want to catch up to the current events.

WARNING: THIS PAGE SPOILS THE ENTIRE SERIES!

Short Introduction[]

Three friends, Evan, Jeff, and Vince, create a fitness series featuring the falsified presence of the entity Slenderman, and begin to realize that the presence of Slenderman and other monsters (especially a prominent one called The Rake) in their lives is very real. They are stalked by the creatures, which results in much death, injury, space-time distortion, and paranoia. Meanwhile, a mysterious entity named HABIT starts leaving them clues which tell the story of The Mining Town Four, a group of children from the past that is somehow related to them. HABIT taunts them with a "Tournament" that seems designed to dehumanize the competitors. The EverymanHYBRID gang tries to keep themselves and their friends alive while working solve the mystery of their connection to the Mining Town Four, and while trying to figure out why these monsters are interested in them.

Short Synopsis[]

Please note: SPOILERS BELOW.

Three friends, Jeff, Evan and Vince, set out to create a fitness series, and as a joke, include a "fake" Slenderman to help them earn page views. When the real Slenderman begins to appear in their videos, they assume it's a prank being pulled on them, but after more strange events, they become concerned. Jeff's girlfriend, Jessa, disappears. Oddly edited videos, invisible to the EMH cast but visible to viewers, are placed on their own YouTube channel by someone other than them, showing things that can't happen or that weren't intended for the viewers eyes, as well as things that the crew don't remember happening. Notes and clues with coordinates and cryptic hints begin to be found by the cast leading them to search for Jessa in various burned out locations, including in Brooklyn, where they have a direct confrontation with Slenderman, and finally, in the abandoned, burned-down mining town Centralia, PA.

Jeff blames Jessa's friend Stephanie for Jessa's disappearance, as her dark blog seems to frequently allude to Slenderman. Steph claims to know nothing of the disappearance, but after Jeff tips off the police, she is sent to a mental hospital. With no further clues or hope, the search for Jessa is abandoned.

Meanwhile, a creature called The Rake inhabits Jeff's brother Alex's closet, and injures him while he sleeps. Evan, Jeff and Alex eventually lock The Rake inside Alex's bedroom. Later when they go in to try and fight the thing, they find it missing, and the room physically altered.

Through clues and evidence found at the mystery coordinates, fans of the series help to build a backstory about a Dr. Corenthal who, in 1971, adopted four disturbed children from the Fairmount Children's Home he worked at, who he referred to as the Mining Town Four. These children shared the same first names as Steph and the main cast (the patient Evan is nicknamed HABIT). These children would succumb to unknown deaths, and Dr. Corenthal would seek out the reason why they all died.

After the murder of their friend Ryan, a mysterious tournament is opened by an entity called HABIT (who is believed to have left the caches of clues and co-ordinates, and to have uploaded the hidden videos). The main cast and 200 other "rabbits" (viewers of the series) join and begin completing 7 Trials. The main cast are quickly eliminated. The "rabbits" are eventually whittled down to 7 remaining.

The cast break Stephanie out of the mental hospital, believing she can help, but she admits to them that she actually knows very little about Slenderman other than being a victim herself. She stays with Evan, fearing the police's actions if she were to go back to her apartment. Steph and Evan eventually begin a relationship.

Along the way, many new discoveries throw shadows on the proceedings: someone is placing pinhole cameras in the boy's homes; Evan has killed their friend Nick while seemingly under the influence of something; the Rake is attacking and killing their friends; and their friend Jessie is discovered to be a distant relation of Dr. Corenthal's. They investigate the connection but Jessie and other members of her family soon become victims of the Rake.

In actions that seem to mirror a prophecy found in a box that was found by a viewer, Jeff becomes increasingly distant, Evan increasingly erratic and Vince seem to become more determined than ever to film everything, no matter how hurtful presenting it may be. Steph and Evan's relationship progresses and it is revealed that Steph is pregnant, presumably with Evan's baby. Alex appears to have been killed by Slenderman while on the way to Jessie's funeral with Vince.

Evan, who turns out to be possessed by the entity HABIT, tortures and kills Jeff, and murders both Steph and her baby. HABIT then brings Evan back out of his trance, and forces him to look upon what he's done. He cries and screams with sorrow after witnessing the remains of his family in a house HABIT took as his own. Later, he calmly discusses the memories he still has of what HABIT made him do, and recalls the feeling of his daughter's bones against his teeth. Obviously traumatized and defeated, deeming himself a "monster" that's "had enough", he confesses he is going to kill himself by engaging in battle with the Rake.

Vince is then confronted with an unpossessed Evan seeking help, who tells Vince of the physical pain the Rake put him through, but how not a mark was left on his body after he was torn apart, and he admits frustration that his emotional state is not at all evident in his physical appearance—which HABIT keeps as he wants it. Evan, manic, details to Vince how he beheaded the Rake but it still didn't die.

After weeks of nothing, Vince comes to the conclusion that nothing will get solved unless the two of them summon HABIT to try to find answers. He finds an old book in a store full of new books that tells him how to summon an entity (with additions and deletions made to the instructions by someone) and he and Evan do so together. HABIT, upon returning, laughs at the stupid poses and attire Evan wore according to the instructions (that HABIT admits he doctored). He explains to Vince that before he kills him, he wants to reveal to Vince important things due to his admirable braveness.

HABIT shows Vince a multitude of his horrid deeds. He explains to him the fate of Lexi, Vinny's girlfriend, who has disappeared and is assumed dead. HABIT uses Vince as a mode of capturing people so that he can interrogate them and kill them. Vince, finally unable to take any more, tries to leave the house. HABIT knocks him out and he awakes in Jeff's bedroom with a countdown on a computer monitor; the video cuts off just as it reaches 00:00:00. At Christmas 2014, a video is uploaded where an audio file with missing sounds is played.

In the midst of these events, HABIT brings Evan back out of his trance and leaves a clue that gives Vince the sudden realization that their entire lives are fiction, and that none of their experiences have been truly real. They seem to be trapped in a sort of loop across time, where they are doomed to relive their lives and violent deaths over and over again, according to a prophecy.

After awakening from his stint in Jeff's room, Vince is seen blindly stumbling into an apartment, chased by entities unknown to him. He remains in this apartment, with no outside interaction and spotty internet connection (save for the few months in which Evan crashed on his couch, briefly free from HABIT) for approximately 2 years. Later on, while engaging in a sort of play-hunt with HABIT, it is revealed before entering the apartment, Vince had attempted suicide at HABIT's request.

During Christmas, 2016, HABIT is revealed to have been living with Vince in an unknown location for a few months now, and as the new year approaches, Vince reports that HABIT had been running about the house, chanting "New year, new me" very excitedly. They (or, at least HABIT), seem to have an idea or a basic plan to attack and presumably destroy Slenderman once and for all. Vince also reveals that he can now see the hidden videos on the channel.

In April 2017, HABIT urges the last remaining Rabbits in the Trials to make contact on Steph's old blog. Rabbit #041 subsequently posted that they have received a floppy disk in the mail. The disk contains transcribed news files and introduces Elizabeth, an alleged clairvoyant that helped Corenthal.

The DRKWND disk also contains the handwritten URL to the website of Dr. Corenthal's lawyer, William J. Davidson. Reddit user thesharp0ne sends a letter to the P.O. box listed on the website in July, and receives a response in October, in the form of the William Davidson Letter. Davidson explains that an "unnamed client" left him with a package to be sent if he received a letter such as thesharp0ne's. In November, thesharp0ne receives the Roberts Package (apparently originally intended for Adam Roberts, Corenthal's old colleague).

In February 2018, thesharp0ne receives another package, containing the Princeton Tapes. The tapes contain the audio diary of a Vince from a unique iteration speculated to take place in 1987-1989. The Vince on these tapes is in group therapy and makes contact with the Rake, who invades his house and speaks to him. Vince learns of Fairmount Vince through a true crime zine, and dies mysteriously while attempting to investigate Corenthal and the Mining Town Four.

In April 2018, Vince confirms he's been listening to the Princeton Tapes and plans to go to the Fairmount Home in Ohio for answers. He confronts HABIT, telling him he's going to leave. HABIT angrily lets him go, letting him know he'll be lost without his help, and that him dying will be inevitable. He leaves for the Fairmount Home, and on the way there sees Jeff (most likely an apparition created by the Slenderman or HABIT) trying to get Vince to go on a night hike him. He points out that he's dead and can't be here, and quickly drives away. He makes it to Ohio at night and is two hours away from the Fairmount Home, but is too tired to continue, and goes to sleep. He is abruptly awoken by a loud noise and a bright light before being teleported into the middle of a field, where it's now day time. He wanders into the woods where he runs into Jeff again, who is injured and is trying to get Vince to help "him and his brother". Vince runs away from him, and eventually finds his car. He taunts HABIT through the camera, saying "We made it." We then hear what is presumably audio from the future of Vince pleading and begging for help, saying that he should not have come.

Vinny eventually makes it to the abandoned Fairmount's Children Home in Ohio, and he plays the Princeton Tapes on his digital recorder. But it begins to play something different from what was before, and Vinny realizes he is a place where time and space is not normal. He goes through the abandoned facility, and encounters the Slenderman and ghosts of previous iterations of himself and his friends. He soon finds what he was looking for, a symbol for the North Star, which HABIT claims will help them defeat Slenderman.

Vinny leaves Fairmount, and is told by HABIT to come to a cabin in the woods where they prepare to defeat Slenderman.

But once the fight begins, HABIT reveals they he has tricked Vinny, and what he wants him to do is kill Evan. HABIT leaves Evan's body, and Evan reveals that HABIT revealed to him Vinny's true nature. Vinny has been acting under the influence of Slenderman the entire time, being the one who kept telling the crew to keep filming even when it was hurtful to themselves, was the one who placed hidden cameras in their homes, and even lead Jeff's brother Alex to his death. Evan cannot forgive Vinny and decides to kill him. After fighting, Vinny is able to stab Evan with a knife that has been branded with the North Star symbol, ensuring that Evan will die. But Evan, in his final moments, throws the knife at Vinny and is able to cut him. Vinny starts to die too, and he lays down near Evan as they both succumb to their deaths.

The final video shows Vinny waking up in another dimension being greeted by Corenthal, Jeff, and Evan. Vinny apologized to Corenthal for failing to prevent HABIT's plan, but Corenthal forgives him. They set the camera down and walk away, awaiting the next cycle. The series ends.

Long Summary[]

Please note: This summary is broken into "eras" for easier reading. This section SPOILS the entire series.

The Fitness Series[]

The Hybrids create a fitness series on YouTube, and throw in a fake Slenderman for laughs. The real Slenderman starts stalking them. This and other creepy occurrences makes them think someone is pulling a prank on them. There are relatively light audio/visual disturbances, and many appearances of Slenderman.

EverymanHYBRID (Abbreviated "EMH") started in March 2010, with co-hosts Vince and Evan, and cameraman Jeff, as a fitness vlog which aimed to help educate viewers as a "Go-To-Guide for Health on a Budget". They were based in the Central New Jersey region, around Trenton and Princeton.

The videos were mostly common sense (and rather amateur) advice with a fair amount of corny humor. The first few videos include lessons on jogging and stretching, how diet affects dreams, and upper body strength. Being pranksters and horror fans, they included their friend Daniel dressed up as popular creepypasta character Slenderman in the background, along with static and video distortion, in their videos. In Upper Body and Arms, however, they get spooked out since Slenderman appears without them telling Daniel to come. Shortly after, an oddly named and edited video, ... (Morse code for the letter "S"), appeared on their channel, which features the Hybrids discussing a bad prank being pulled on them with Evan acting strangely in the background. They did not acknowledge this video appearing on their channel.

They continue their fitness series with Healthy Eating, with the real Slenderman making an appearance while Daniel is there, disappearing inexplicably as they chase him. The Hybrids then put up a new video admitting their own prankery, and asking whoever is pranking them to stop, and there will be no repercussions. They announce a short break, during which they film A Day in the Life, a rather long and uneventful video of the Hybrids and their friends hanging out at Baldpate Mountain (a local park) all day.

The Hybrids then restart the series with a two part special on Sleeping and Dreams. Jeff and Vince try sleep deprivation on Livestream and come across a disturbing shrine with defaced photos from their Day in the Life video, with writing asking them if they can "See The Words", and Evan is shown uncharacteristically on the computer, reading a Tumblr blog called Can You See The Words. Evan tries to log his dreams after eating different kinds of foods, with one very disturbing dream full of Slenderman imagery.

The CanYouSeeTheWords blog turns out to be written by a young woman who makes strange posts of writings and photos that had flood and water imagery. Eventually, EMH viewers were able to find she was an art student living not that far from where the Hybrids were living. Viewers eventually gave her the nickname Damsel, as she refused to give her real name. Her posts alluded to her parents dying, and she hints Slenderman has been following her for a long time (This being why she had moved to where she was now living). Viewers asked about her connection with the EverymanHYBRID crew, but she claimed she didn't know them. But she eventually befriends Jeff's girlfriend Jessa, not knowing she was connected with the Hybrids.

A second oddly edited video (With the title "---", Morse code for "O") is posted showing the Hybrids discussing whether to stop the video series edited in with footage from their day in the park. Evan expresses his thoughts on whether or not something supernatural is actually going on. Again, the Hybrids don't acknowledge this video appearing on their channel.

Slushpops and Suprises is a non-fitness related video which shows the gang hanging out. At the end they find a card with a coordinate on it, leading the the ARG aspect of the series, in which viewers of the series use clues that appear in the series to go to real-life locations and find items related to the series' lore. The first item was a box that was found by a viewer known as TheGreenFeathers and contained cryptic phrases and defaced photographs of the Hybrids.

The last video to follow the original fitness premise was Self Defense, and featured numerous instances of Slenderman. A contest is announced for best promotion video for EverymanHYBRID created by a viewer. There was a livestream chat which shows Evan, once again, acting strangely.

The Search for Jessa[]

The gang drops the fitness premise and instead focus on making a documentary about their troubles. Jeff's girlfriend goes missing, and Jeff looks for her. Evan and Vince, in turn, go looking for Jeff. The ARG aspect of the series becomes more important. The historical backstory is revealed, but not many answers given. This part of the series is marked by massive confusion, doubt, and chaos, as well as very dramatic audio and visual effects.

The video Joke's Over features the gang filming a hiking video. Slenderman appears behind them, and Evan chases after him. Slenderman disappears, and they find trash bags full of blood hanging in the trees. After Vince cuts one of them open, Evan laughs maniacally. That night, Evan and Vince find out that Jeff had left to find his girlfriend, Jessa, who has gone missing. They announce their intention to document what has been happening to them. A second box with cryptic messages is found by a viewer.

While searching for Jeff, Vince and Evan find a USB drive in his room. Jeff uploads a video of him in the ruins of his old elementary school relating a horrific memory of him being forgotten when a fire broke out. A new hidden video (With the title ".-", morse code for "A") is discovered with disturbing imagery cut with Jeff visiting the wife of someone named Doctor Corenthal, asking about a patient of his called nicknamed "HABIT". The woman tells him the Doctor has died. Again, this strange video is not acknowledged by the Hybrids.

Vince and Evan look at the flash drive found in Jeff's room and discover a video called 78of76.avi , which shows them knocking down the door from the building they find in the A Day in the Life video and inexplicably transporting to a beach at night. Evan and Vinny say they don't remember this happening at all.

Jeff uploads a new video checking in with the viewers, explaining he got arrested for punching a security guard, and that he's looking for a name that keeps showing up on papers he got from his old school.

Jeff finally reunites with the rest of the gang, and they all search the abandoned school together. They find a mysterious document from someone called Linnie describing an inhuman creature. Slenderman appears with none of them noticing. When the footage from the school ends, Evan expresses his belief it's the real Slenderman, and his desire to kill him.

Jeff's brother Alex posts his first video on his own Youtube channel.

Land of Ashen Waste[]

This portion of the series is defined as the search for "Ashen Waste", a hint given on a postcard to them, as well as Alex's troubles with The Rake. The gang is unified but still unsure about what is going on. Jeff is still looking for Jessa. This portion of the series is characterized by surreal situations which convince all Hybrids something supernatural is going on.

Jeff is sent a postcard which gives the hint a "Land of Ashen Waste" as where they might find answers. They decide to visit Lambertville, a burned down high school. On the way there they reveal that they can't see the strange videos with the morse code titles that were uploaded to their channel, and their friend Jessie reveals that Doctor Corenthal is her uncle. When they arrive, they find a body on the ground. When they approach, they find a note in her hand, and see a creature called The Rake. They called the cops, but they found no body.

Alex posts a second video of Sparky, his dog, scratching at his bedroom's closet door all night. Jeff posts a video montage in honor of his missing girlfriend. Evan posts a video speaking out against Jeff calling the cops on Damsel for thinking she had a role in Jessa's disappearance.

Damsel is put in a psychiatric hospital by the police, and while being committed a post she set to be released at a future date is posted to her blog. She claims she had nothing to do with Jessa's disappearance. Damsel then revels she has been followed by Slenderman since she was a child. And that one day, she came home to find her family's remains put into hanging garbage bags, like the ones seen in Joke's Over. She then revels she brought the bags into her house, and after laying with them for awhile decided to burn her house down. She then claims Slenderman told her to go "north," and that's how she ended up near the Hybrids.

A video is leaked of the gang congratulating a viewer named Magus for winning the contest they announced in their Self-Defense video. The video is cut with footage of Jeff and Vinny walking around at night. Jeff sees Jessa, but Vince tackles him because he saw Slenderman. Jeff is shocked on Twitter about the video, seemingly having no memory of these events.

In the videoAshen Waste, Vince reads the note they found, in which someone named Linnie writes of her search to find a group (Presumably the Hybrids). Coordinates are revealed for the third box. Vince then shows footage for their search for the Ashen Waste, this time at the location of a fire in Brooklyn, NY, in a place actually called Ashen Waste in a news article. While there, they run into Slenderman, who Evan attempts to attack with a bat. Evan is injured in the attack. While looking for a hospital, they find Slenderman in the middle of the road, and attempt to ram him. Instead, they are transported back home in their basement.

The third box (actually a hollowed out book) is found, and includes the message "The Good doctor is not so lucky as to be dead", and 1971 letter from Dr. Corenthal (who turns out to be a child psychiatrist at the Fairmount Children's Home in Ohio) about a violent patient named Evan (who is nicknamed "HABIT").

Alex posts a video talking about how they found that Jeff's papers (from his old, burnt school) were shredded and left in a trail that led to Alex's closet. The coordinates of a bag were revealed.

Inside the bag were a bottle of Powerade, a letter addressed from "William" to Linnie that tells her to find the EverymanHYBRID crew, and a second 1970's report from Corenthal. The letter discusses his disturbed child patients named Vincent, Evan, Jeff, and a redacted girl's name, and reveals they are from a mining town "of ash".

The gang thinks they have solved the riddle of Ashen Waste and head to Centralia, a former mining town where the coal mines under it were accidentally set on fire and forced the residents to leaving, making the town abandoned. Jeff finds Jessa's necklace and gives up on her, accepting she is most likely dead. They promise to find the Damsel, and end this. The video is spliced with clips from A Day In The Life.

Alex uploads a video with his arms slashed. He then follows up with an explanation, describing The Rake, having encountered it in his bedroom at night.

The fourth hidden video (Titled "....", morse code for the letter "H") is posted. This one doesn't seem to reveal new information like the other ones did, but ends with the text "His loss blinds him" in reference to Jeff's loss of his girlfriend and what is happening to his brother Alex.

Evan receives a USB drive in the mail. One of the files shows footage of the Rake in Jeff's house. Evan investigates, and discovers Alex's wounds. He informs Jeff, who has been depressed since he realized Jessa is gone for good, and not paying attention to his brother's troubles. They search in Alex's closet (where there is a crawlspace) and find Vince's cell phone. They then hear growling noises and lock the closet door up with a chain.

The Seven Trials of HABIT[]

This period of EverymanHYBRID is characterized by the introduction of HABIT as an active character. HABIT creates a contest which everyone joins which centers around the theme of severing personal ties. HABIT reveals himself as a rather talkative character, sending tweets via his own Twitter account and cryptic "phantom tweets" on the EverymanHYBRID account. In the videos, the Hybrids are at a loss of what to do.

The Hybrids announce a fan meetup, and TheGreenFeathers (the viewer who found the first box), the Hybrids, and Jessie show up. They hang out in Princeton. After TheGreenFeathers leaves, Vince gets a frantic phone call from their friend Ryan, who appeared in the A Day in the Life video.

In the next video, the Hybrids are at a small makeshift memorial for Ryan who has died in what is officially called a car accident, and Jeff says when he saw the body it seemed like Ryan was pulled from his car and torn at by something. They explain that they received an email from Ryan saying how someone emailed him asking him to fill out an application. The person (Who claims to be known as HABIT) then asked Ryan for a pint of blood, and Ryan refused. The Hybrids put up the email application and say they're going to register. Interspersed into the video is footage of Evan speaking to apparently thin air, with Evan talking about how he got "him" his fishes and how he wants to see blood, with Jeff finding him and asking what's going on. None of the Hybrids seem to notice this footage.

HABIT creates his own Twitter account. He claims to be some sort of personification of all human violence and atrocity.

231 rabbits (EMH viewers) sign up for what is called The Seven Trials Of Habit, including the Hybrids and Alex. The tournament was split up into three groups: The Angoras, The English Lops, and The Netherland Dwarfs (All rabbit breed names). The tournament involved 7 trials that mostly involved the theme of personal sacrifice...tearing apart bonds to people and items. The Hybrids and Alex were eliminated in the second round.

The Hybrids respond to complaints of how difficult it is to follow everything by posting an "Update HUB" video.

Evan and Vinny reveal on a livestream that Jeff and Alex's parents died around the same time when they started making fitness videos. They claim they don't like bringing it up because Alex is having a hard time accepting their deaths. Jeff explains they've been surviving off of his parents' life insurance money and relatives' help.

The Hybrids finally find that the Damsel is at the hospital Jeff works at, in the psychiatric wing. They break her out rather violently. We then find out her real name is Stephanie (But usually just goes by Steph) and that she was scheduled to be released from the hospital that night.

After the events of the previous night, Jeff goes to his work to find an email announcing that donations for his co-workers Glenn and John's families will be collected. It turns there had been an accident with a flashfire that killed two employees that night, which occurred five minutes before they had broken Damsel out. Later on that day, Jeff asks his work about "a certain girl" and is told that she had been released a week earlier. He has no explanation for these new series of events, as it seems time itself has been manipulated with.

After a few weeks of no updates, the Hybrids post December & early January as a brief summary of all that has happened. Vince and Evan attempt to change Steph's voicemail as a prank and hear a disturbing message from Jessa being chased by Slenderman and screaming, confirming her death. They ask Steph for advice, but she says she knows just as much as they do about Slenderman. Later on, Vince receives a call about "keeping Mittens warm". They check the burial spot of his long-deceased cat named Mittens to find blood on the snow, and then have a run-in with Slenderman.

The Hybrids post the until-now corrupted video 77of76.avi, which was on the same USB as 78of76.avi. The location is the same as A Day in the Life but clearly during the fall/winter time. We see Jeff, Evan, and Alex seem to be in search of something but it is unclear what exactly it is. The Hybrids again claim they have no memory of this.

In The Hidden Videos, the Hybrids and Steph record a video of themselves watching the "Hidden" Morse Code Videos (The videos viewers can see but the Hybrids can't) on a burned DVD sent to them by a fan. The videos quickly turn to static, and the Hybrids space out and speak in the voices of the Mining Town Four, apologizing to the Doctor for "playing a game", involving Slenderman transporting them somewhere. They directly quote a letter from Corenthal from 1975. They wake up 8 minutes later passed out, bleeding from their noses and ears.

Evan, Alex, and Jeff attempt to search Alex's room for The Rake. They crawl through the crawlspace in his closet and somehow transport to the basement from 78of76 at Baldpate.

Vince posts an update informing us of the suspected murder of Jessie's grandmother, which greatly irritates Evan.

Jessie shares information she found about Dr. Corenthal she found among her grandmother's items with the Hybrids, including information about a storage locker and a key. They go to the storage locker, and find bullets and knives, a rocking horse, and a strange device which looks like a radio. The door to the unit shuts on them and they are unable to get out. While in there, Vince starts bleeding from the mouth and Slenderman appears. The door then opens to reveal daylight, and Doctor Corenthal brings the rocking horse in, taking no notice of the boys in there, and apologizing to the the kids for failing them again.

Around the same time, a post appears and is quickly deleted on the EMH Twitter. The post were coordinates that led to Memory Town, PA, a place mentioned previously in one of the Corenthal letters. There, the fifth box was found by a viewer known as "Lookbehindyou." In the Box, a copy of the 15th-century morality play Everyman. Written inside the copy of the play, were hand-written lines that seemed to be a prophecy. It talked of characters known only as the FIREBRAND, the GUARDIAN, and the VOYEUR, who will in a series of events kill each other. Many saw this as the events the EMH crew must keep repeating in the Iteration Theory, where the Jeff, Evan, and Vinny are stuck in some sort of loop, doomed to repeat this prophecy over and over again.

Following a clue from the storage locker, the gang go to a library and find information regarding Doctor Corenthal, and take notes regarding his rather roller-coaster life after he adopted The Mining Town Four, patients of his who share the same name as the 3 Hybrids boys and Steph. He has been honored by his town, and also wanted for murder. Following this, they try to contact Officer Matten who's name had come up in notes, but it is discovered that he had committed suicide the year before. Later that night, the Rake captures Sparky in the shed and used her as a "lure" to attract Alex. Evan tries to get Sparky back but is attacked, and Sparky is killed. It is also revealed that Alex still thinks his parents are alive and uses a boombox with prerecorded audio to communicate with them, as he cannot cope with their deaths.

Meanwhile, trial 6 of the Seven Trials of HABIT gets underway, but one rabbit (FullRoundAction) is unable to go through with it, and therefore refuses to open The Jester's Prize (The prize he won in the previous round) unless HABIT passes him through the round. HABIT agrees to pass him, but he posts a series of videos that seem to show the rabbit being attacked and his roommate being killed. Eventually, the rabbit reveals that he never actually had the prize. HABIT leaves his fate to the remaining Rabbits, who vote him out of the Trials, leaving 7 Rabbits left. The prize was eventually sent to another Rabbit.

HABIT also sends a burned letter to Noah Maxwell from the TribeTwelve YouTube channel (Noah is another person who is experiencing supernatural events due to encounters with the Slenderman and documenting it) revealing that his deceased cousin Milo was once a childhood patient of Doctor Corenthal.

We also learn that Alex and Jeff's Parents died after their car went off a bridge into a river from a letter Jeff sent to a viewer.

HABIT releases the seventh and final trial: "TRIAL SEVEN: KEEP YOUR BODY BREATHING." 7 Rabbits remain in the trials.

The Period of Prophecy[]

In actions that seem to mirror a prophecy found in Box 5, Jeff becomes increasingly distant, Evan increasingly erratic, and Vince seems more determined than ever to film everything, no matter how hurtful presenting it may be. Steph and Evan's relationship has progressed and it appears that Steph is pregnant. But many important characters end up dying in horrific fashions.

HABIT hacks Steph's blog and begins posting narratives involving famous serial killers, implying that he may have been in control of them at the time of their killings. He later switches to stories that seem to be collected from victims of Slenderman, or victims of HABIT himself. Including one about a young man named Nicholas who HABIT tortures and brainwashes into killing on command. Evan eventually posts on it that Steph has abandoned the blog to HABIT and viewers should just contact her through the EMH email.

HABIT also teases the viewers and convinces one to admit that he is willing to work against the boys in order to help them. HABIT releases two electronic files, one of which is a Minecraft level that reveals the password to the boys' Mediafire account. Contained there was an unburned copy of the letter sent to Noah Maxwell of TribeTwelve.

Another strange hidden video (Titled "-.-.", Morse code for "C", making all the hidden morse codes video titles spell out "Chaos" backwards) is posted that shows Evan, Vince and Jeff in a candlelit shack discussing aspects of the series in a detached way, as if the events of the series were happening to someone else, or to some other version of themselves as they watched from "The Candleverse". This video has become the prime evidence for the Iteration Theory, a theory developed by viewers which states the guys are basically stuck in a loop, being reincarnated after they die into the same person but into different time periods, being forced to repeat events in their life, but having no memories of their past lives. This would explain the existence of The Mining Town Four. The video was filmed by an unseen fourth person, which Vinny refers to as a thing. The video ends with Evan getting angry and attacking Jeff.

Evan and Alex post a video of the Black Box Device, the strange radio-like device found in the storage unit among Dr. Corenthal's things. Evan uses it in a manner similar to a Geiger Counter to detect the presence of Sigma Radiation given off by Slenderman in his and Alex's blood. Off camera, they test the rest of the cast, and they all test positive for the radiation. The radiation seems to come from supernatural entities like Slenderman.

Noah Maxwell of TribeTwelve comes to visit and they all sit down to discuss Slenderman and their possible connections through Dr. Corenthal.

HABIT releases two new videos, seemingly to punish the boys for seeking outside help from Noah. A series of events are shown revealing Jeff spiraling into sadness again, and potentially attempting suicide. Evan and Vince are shown discovering the body of Lexi, a librarian that Vince had been dating. And, more disturbingly, Evan is shown fighting with, and eventually killing Nick, their friend who they had initially suspected of pranking them by dressing up as Slenderman in Healthy Eating.

Jeff begins to withdraw from the group, and from the fans, admitting in Hidden Cameras and Emails that he has been deleting mail from the fans without sharing it with Vince and Evan. Vince finds and seemingly removed several hidden cameras he has found in their homes, like the ones that had been used to record Evan killing Nick.

At Christmas, we discover that Steph is pregnant with Evan's child.

The boys go to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania to visit Jessie and discover that she is under attack by The Rake. Evan goes in to try and save her and ends up fighting with the Rake himself. Jeff eventually scares the Rake off using an airhorn, but, according to Evan, not before it kills Jessie by tearing her apart. Vinny convinces Jeff that that they should still upload the video.

On the way to Jessie's funeral, Alex and Vinny talk about recent events, and Alex admits that The Rake has been telling him things while he sleeps, telling him about events like Jessie's death before they happen. Vince and Alex are then attacked by Slenderman, and Alex is killed, as we see another garbage bag leaking blood hanging from a tree. Vince undergoes a strange time shift and wakes from the attack without his beard.

Alex's death causes Jeff to withdraw even more and he asks Vince to stop filming.

Vince eventually draws him back out by going over their old production notes with him, ostensibly looking for clues to their situation. They remember that Maryann Corenthal (The doctor's wife, the women Jeff asked about Corenthal and HABIT) is still alive, and Jeff makes a connection between her and the house at Baldpate Mountain they first encounter in A Day in the Life. He goes to get Evan so that they can go to Baldpate, but when he arrives Evan attacks him, stabbing him.

Vince later goes and investigates but finds only a bloody sheet in Evan's basement, and evidence that Jeff had been chained to a post. He is scared off by Slenderman.

HABIT releases a photo of Jeff on Twitter, bound and bloodied, enticing The Green Feathers to come and find Box 6.

Vince attempts to find Jeff, but ends up being transported mysteriously in between rooms in Evan's, Jeff's and his own home, being chased by Slenderman. He is eventually rescued by Dr. Corenthal and pulled into a wooded area that Corenthal describes as a sanctuary from the monsters. Corenthal sends Vinny home with the advice that he should avoid the monsters, and stop trying to find Jeff. The video seems to take place in the Candleverse, and Corenthal is some how still alive in it.

In the next two videos, it is finally confirmed that HABIT has been possessing Evan's body for a long time now. Using him at will for his goals.

We see HABIT brutally torture Jeff, while being filmed by an unseen cameraman.

The next video, Vinny addresses the viewers, saying he is now the only only one left now and isn't sure how much time he has. He then shows a video that HABIT sent him. We see HABIT kill their friend Daniel. HABIT cradling Evan and Steph's baby with Steph laying down in front of the camera, barely alive, as he says he's going to kill them both horribly. And we finally see HABIT light Jeff (Who's also barely alive) on fire and presenting him to Slenderman in a forest.

The Final Act[]

Final Act

The truth is slowly reveled and the Hybrids succumb to their ultimate fates.

In WAKE UP, HABIT releases Evan from his control, forcing him to look upon what he's done. He cries and screams with sorrow after witnessing the remains of Steph and their child (a girl) in a house HABIT took as his own.

In Isolation, Vinny receives a hard drive with a video of Evan preparing to fight the Rake, which he posts. The video ends with Evan surrounded by his knives in the woods, and the sounds of the Rake.

Soon after in L'esprit de l'escalier, Vince is confronted with an uninHABITed Evan seeking help, who tells Vince of the physical pain the Rake put him through, despite the fact that not a mark was left on his body after he was torn apart. Evan admits frustration that his emotional state is not at all evident in his physical appearance—which HABIT keeps as he wants it. Evan, manic, details to Vince how he beheaded the Rake but it still didn't die. Evan cannot die unless HABIT wants him to.

In the video March 21st and after weeks of nothing, Vince theorizes that the only way to move forward is to summon HABIT to try to find answers.

In A proposal, Vince finds an old book in a store full of new books that tells him how to summon any specific entity. Vince explains how odd it is that he found the book given that he was sent down the wrong aisle by someone at the bookstore. He also mentions that the instructions for summoning have additions and deletions made to them by hand.

Later, in A summoning, Vinny and Evan demonstrate the summoning ritual found in the book, Evan reluctantly donning ridiculous clothing as dictated by the book and standing in an unexplained pose for a specific amount of time. The ritual works. HABIT, upon returning, laughs and suggests that he doctored the instructions himself. After detailing how he'd like to kill Vince, HABIT decides to spare him under the reasoning that Vince's determination could be useful.

Now having formed a team, Vinny and HABIT search the apartment of the now deceased Lexi in search for clues. They come to the conclusion that Lexi was hunted by the Slenderman, which started persumbly after she started dating Vinny. HABIT tells Vinny all of his loved ones will probably die because of him.

HABIT shows up in the TribeTwelve video Bridge to Nowhere . Noah finds himself in a strange dimension, where a long-dead Jeff appears and inexplicably tells to Noah kill himself. HABIT shows up, calls this dimension his "home" and says that he has to hunt down Jeff and "a couple others".

In Le premier cours, HABIT allows Evan control of his body for a while. Evan is visibly damaged and believes himself to be hallucinating when he sees Vince, counting and telling him to go away. At first, Vince believes Evan to be HABIT, but they soon realize what's going on and embrace. Evan gives Vince a letter HABIT left for him, which tells him to check his "comrade's back". On Evan's back, HABIT has written "Vin, Grandfather's nickname?" This leads to Vince's realization that he can't remember his grandparents' names at all, and that, though he knows there's a memory there, he can't remember their faces. Nor can he remember the faces or names of his parents. Vince questions Evan on what Vince's dad's name and occupation was, and Evan can't remember either—or his dad, or his sister. None of them can remember their families. Evan freaks out, believing HABIT has taken their memories from them. Vince, calm and trying to resolve the confusion, asks Evan to consider the details of his own house. Evan unknowingly confuses his house and Vince's house, and Vince concludes that they're the same house. From here, 'something clicks' and Vince jumps to the conclusion that the EMH crew "don't exist" and that they're "fiction", and their "lives were written for" them. A flashback to a previously unseen conversation between Evan and Jeff at the start shows Jeff divulging that he went to an (all-hours) police station once to pay a parking ticket, but there was nobody there. This conversation is returned to at the end of the video where it's revealed that neither of them could remember the color of Jessa's hair (This idea of the crew being "fiction" with predetermined lives—and that the world in which EMH is set doesn't function the way it should with regards to space and time but they never really noticed—strongly supports the Iteration Theory).

In Amuse-Bouche and Three's company, HABIT makes Vince lure people selected by him so that he can capture, torture and finally, murder them.

Next, in Breaking the lease, Vinny expresses guilt for the people that he help HABIT to torture and kill. He abandons the partnership they've formed and attempts to leave the house HABIT trapped him in. HABIT opens the door so Vinny can be free, but Vinny hesitates, giving time to HABIT knock him out and drag him back in.

In Blue room, Vinny wakes up locked in Jeff's room with a computer monitor showing a countdown, indicating something will happen in 1 day. He cannot open the door or window. He searches for anything that could be useful to him, and finds a USB drive, a gun with ammo, and a box with a red button on the top. None of these could help him escape the room, so he waits for the countdown, expressing his gratitude to his viewers for their help throughout the years. At the end of the countdown, we hear the door creak open. Either the lights or video feed turn off, Vinny swears, says, "Here we go," and the video ends before he leaves the room.

In Christmas. Vinny and Evan (free of HABIT'S possession once again) have a conversation about their "not so good" situation while Vinny edits video footage (possibly of what happened when he left Jeff's room). Evan realizes their gaming console works, and they play together.

Later in the video, Vinny, nervous and hiding from someone as he films, tells viewers to stop watching. The audio was missing or corrupt at crucial moments so the identity of some key words is not completely obvious. An audio file linked to on the everymanHYBRID twitter and a clue from a Canyouseethewords post, however, makes the syllables more discernable, and it's believed he says the following:

I don't know much...But uh, the order is 2, 1, 3. Okay. And um, I-I don't know all the characters or keywords, but I know of at least "ark" [possibly "dark"], "home" and "Vin". Tell them to stop. And for your own sakes, stop watching.

After seven months without posting anything on YouTube, Twitter, or Damsel's blog, HABIT posts a message directly to the Hybrids on the Canyouseethewords blog about Vince. He provides a cryptic list of strange names, words and numbers pertaining to the apartment in which Vince is apparently locked in. HABIT stresses that someone should get this list to Vince, and included the hashtag "Callh1im" on the end of the post. The next day, an Unfiction user called Vince, and gave him the cryptic list from HABIT. The number was allegedly deactivated or unavailable when users attempted later calls.

After a long time without updating the Youtube account, Vince finally posts three videos. These videos reveal that after the door opened in Blue room back in October, something happened and Vince filmed it (though he hadn't yet edited the footage or shown anyone at this point, yet), and then he passed out and woke up outside in a field with his camera and a set of keys. We are shown footage of him being chased inside to an apartment by three hooded figures. He reveals that Evan (not HABIT) was there for a few weeks (during which the December video Christmas. was filmed), but left (most likely becoming inHABITed again). Apt 3103 shows Vince filming on several different dates across the 7 month period; he reveals that for ages he had no internet and no means of contacting the outside world, trapped in this apartment. He shows and suggests that Slenderman is very close to the house, and seems to break down when expressing that he's trying not to let him in.

In Part II, released shortly after Apt 3103 (as Vince has an internet connection again), Vince suggests that someone is coming to the apartment, as it has been restocked with food by an unknown party. In this video, Vince shows viewers footage he found on the USB that was found in the Blue room. The videos show Alex talking about his new camera, and then about how Jeff needed "psychiatric help" as he believed "whatever's following him is going to kill him". Vince also shows the viewers how close the Slenderman is to the house, standing outside the windows. At the end of the video, it appears the Slenderman is inside the house, and Vince possibly entranced by him.

By the events of Part 3, Vince appears very, very broken. It has been months since we as viewers had last heard from him, and things are not going well in Apartment 3103. The video opens with Vince wandering around his house in the early stages of a panic attack, muttering about how his couch has disappeared and the house is getting too small for him. It then cuts to Vince sitting in the bathroom, on the floor, looking slightly intoxicated and acting extremely indignant at his situation, surrounded with bowls and jars of what is presumably urine. He tells the viewer that it is now August, and he is growing restless. He can hear voices outside, perhaps the entities that had chased him into this room in the first place. Whoever has been bringing him food has suddenly vanished, and save for a few condiments, a few bottles of Mountain Dew, some olives and a bottle of red wine, his food is dwindling. His plumbing, including drinkable tap water, is gone as well. He sleeps on the floor now, as his bed and couch seem to have simply disappeared into thin air. The air conditioner is not only back on, but is now unable to turn off entirely, freezing Vince constantly, ensuring he is never truly comfortable. He laments on this, being alone in a small apartment for a long time, asking "why couldn't I just die?" Shortly after, the video cuts to Vince out of the bathroom, looking better. He says "I found what He wanted me to find. Doesn't matter. I'm not bringing anybody else into this." Then, the video cuts to black.

Just over a year later, the video two thousand three hundred ninety-five is uploaded. In the video, HABIT is filming himself and Vince walking through a forest, after apparently catching him after some sort of chase. HABIT commends Vince for his intelligence and determination and even going so far as watching where he is putting his feet down. Vince, however, is done with all that is happening. Clips similar to those filmed by the hidden cameras in Evan’s basement are interspersed throughout this interaction, with HABIT and Vince's conversation serving as a voice-over. Clips include footage of HABIT with a gun, secretly following Vince, who is running through the forest, trying to escape. Vince pauses in a clearing upon seeing a setup of a mirror, two chairs, a clock, and the child's rocking horse from his basement. He approaches after some hesitation and begins to inspect the objects before turning to see HABIT and running once more. The video cuts to show someone in the snow who has been shot and killed before cutting to a view of the forest as it passes by a car window. Clips also show Vince’s basement and the rocking horse from the storage unit on the floor moving by itself. Vinny appears and looks around for a few moments before the lights flicker and go out and several dolls appear hanging from the ceiling by their necks. When the camera passes over the pictures that Vince has displayed, several are shown to have gone blank. Vince touches one of the dolls and seems to have a sort of vision before running up the stairs and attempting to exit the house from the front door which refuses to open. Vince runs up to the second floor and attempts to open the doors there at which point the camera shifts to one that appears to be mounted on the wall above Vince's head. He tries the doors multiple times before one finally opens and he exits the house only to enter the forest again.

The conversation played over the video is HABIT telling Vinny that he knows the way to stop Slenderman, bringing the whole ordeal to an end for Vinny. Vinny is in disbelief, saying Slenderman is a "god." HABIT claims he has a "plan" that involves the "North Star," the star that helped humans travel for thousands of years. HABIT says that his "plan" isn't ready yet, but will be soon. Vinny is a special part of this plan, and HABIT tells him the reason he was locked in an apartment for two years was so that Vinny will be ready. HABIT refuses to tell the Vinny the plan just yet. But HABIT revels that the reason he is talking to Vinny now is to punish him for "not showing them" (presumably the events after Blue room), Vinny begs HABIT to stop.

The video finally cuts to show HABIT holding a gun to Vince's head before changing to show a house on a darkened street. The video changes once more to show various streets and roads before switching to a projection screen. The screen shows what seems to be a continuation of Blue room. Vince walks into the basement and is obviously infuriated before spotting a gun on a nearby table and a note reading "No matter how much you scream and shout there will only be one way out." Vince denies this and searches for another way out even though he still picks up the gun. After a few moments Vince accepts what the note says and paces for a bit more before cocking the gun. Vince stands and breathes heavily for a few seconds before shooting himself in the head and the video ends.

The next video, Tradition. is uploaded on the 25th of December 2016. HABIT had asked Vince to create another Christmas video stating that it was "Tradition." Vince goes on to state that he knows what was seen in the previous video and that he can almost remember it. He then states that the next thing that he can remember is waking up in the apartment. Vince then explains that HABIT has been giving him limited access to the internet and encourages viewers to be safe if they insist on helping him. The video cuts out for a few seconds before returning and Vince says that he can finally see The Hidden Videos. The video ends with Vince wishing the viewers a "Merry Christmas."

In April 2017 Rabbit #041, a viewer known as shutupshea, received a package containing a floppy disk with the phrase DRKWND written on it as well as a URL to the website of a New Jersey lawyer named William Davidson. The floppy disck contained a zip file by the name of DRKWND.7z that was password protected. Two months later in June, a Reddit user named Alexgweeneyo locates the password, home213, in the video Christmas. In the zip file were several documents written in hex. When translated, the documents were revealed to be news articles about a psychic named Elizabeth who might have helped Corenthal. On July 2nd, another viewer, thesharp0ne, sends a letter to William Davidson's P.O. Box, the only useful information on the contact section of his website.

Several months later on October 11th, thesharp0ne receives a reply to his letter with instructions to wait for a package which would be sent per a prior agreement with an "Unnamed Client." On November 13th, thesharp0ne received the package, originally intended for Adam Roberts (an old friend of Corenthal), from the Davidson law firm. The package contained various items relating to Dr. Corenthal.

On January 23, 2018, thesharp0ne received a letter from A. Row, Davidson's nephew, which was apparently supposed to be included in the Roberts Package. One month later, thesharp0ne received a package containing The Princeton Tapes.

The package containing the tapes had been obviously intercepted since both the package containing the tapes and the letter with them had been ripped open. The tapes had been transcribed and digitized and the digital versions as well as the transcript were sent instead along with the destroyed remains of tapes and the cases for tapes 1 and 2. Tape 3 is missing and the rest were presumed to be destroyed as well. TheSharp0ne and his associates worked together to get the tapes and transcripts in order before uploading a video to YouTube. A link can be found here. The tapes contained audio from the late 1980's which seems to have been recorded by a previous iteration of the current Vinny and span the course of about a year. 80's Vinny seems to have had many of the same problems that the current Vinny is having. 80's Vinny had multiple encounters with The Rake and eventually died from a violent seizure during his search for answers at the Fairmount Children's Home, where Dr. Corenthal used to work at and met The Mining Town Four.

On April 13, 2018, the video Sleeping dogs lie. is uploaded to the EMH channel. It starts with Vinny viewing the Princeton Tapes. Vinny is astonished to hear how similar this Vinny from the 80's is to him. Vinny decides to leave to find answers. He tells HABIT, who refuses to open the door at first. Vinny asks him to open the door, but HABIT tells him they had a "plan." Vinny tries to tell HABIT that the tapes might help both of them, but HABIT reacts in anger and chokes Vinny. HABIT stops, and Vinny says HABIT could come with him. HABIT tells Vinny that he doesn't understand that there's a "formula," and that Vinny still doesn't understand that this isn't just about him. Vinny is only alive for HABIT's benefit. But in the end, HABIT decides to let Vinny go, saying if he isn't going to be "useful" he'll at least be "entertaining," and gives Vinny a camera to record himself. HABIT wants "everyone" to Vinny fail and die, and reminds him before he leaves that Vinny will have "no protection or direction." The video ends with Vinny picking up a car key and finally opening the apartment door, where he then gets on the ground and kisses the grass, happy to finally be free.

A few days later, The drive west. is uploaded. It shows Vinny on his road trip to the Fairmount Children's Home in Ohio, where 80's Vinny died at the end of The Princeton Tapes, and where Dr. Corenthal once worked (and met The Mining Town Four).

Vinny starts the video by admonishing the viewers for sharing The Princeton Tapes and getting others involved, but he still appreciates what they have done for him. He mentions that he is bringing with him a digital recorder that has all of the Princeton Tape files on it.

Vinny seems to have a pleasant journey at first, before he sees Jeff on the side of the rural road he is driving on. Vinny stops, and "Jeff" tells him if he's ready for the "night hike." Vinny, believing this to be an illusion, tells Jeff he is dead before driving away.

The journey seems to go back to normal after this incident. But Vinny eventually decides to pull over and sleep in his car. Before he can go to sleep, a bright light shines into his car. Vinny is then suddenly in a forest during the daytime and with his car nowhere in sight. Vinny wanders the forest for awhile, searching for his car, before he encounters "Jeff" again. "Jeff" begs Vinny to come help his hurt brother Alex, who is "just over the hill." Vinny angrily tells "Jeff" that he is "not real" before running away. "Jeff" angrily yells "You could have fucking saved us!" at Vinny. Vinny continues to wander the forest, but the camera starts to distort, making Vinny start to run. Vinny is suddenly transported to the same beach in 78of76.avi, where he sees "Jeff" wandering around begging for help. Vinny revels he has the Black Box Device and uses it. It begins to tick as the sirens from Joke's Over can be heard. Realizing Slenderman is about to come, Vinny runs into the water. Vinny is suddenly transported again, and he realizes he is back near his car. He gets back in to renew his journey. The video ends with a clip of HABIT listening to an audio recording of Vinny begging for his life.

A few months later, Finding Fairmount. is posted. Vinny finally arrives at the Fairmount Children's Home. As he approaches the building, he begins to play the ending of the Princeton Tapes on his digital recorder. While it seems to play normally at first, the recording starts to deviate from the ones already posted. Vinny continues to search through the abandoned building, but the recorder turns on by itself, and continues to play the different recording. In it, we hear Vinny trying to run away from the Doctor he met, Dr. Peters. Dr. Peters now seems to be possessed by something and chases after 80's Vinny (Who can't seem to find any other staff members). The current Vinny is confused by all of this, and continues to wander the Fairmount Children's Home.

Vinny begins to encounter "ghosts" of what seem to be previous iterations of Jeff, Evan, and even himself who also traveled to Fairmount. Vinny also encounters Slenderman, but manages to get away from him. While all of this goes on, the "new" Princeton Tape continues to play, showing that 80's Vinny went to many of the same places as current Vinny as he was being chased by Dr. Peters.

Current Vinny eventually finds a lockbox and manages to open it, finding a hand drawn map of the Fairmount grounds and a paper covered in weird symbols inside. With the map, Vinny finds a small, dark room that has a symbol drawn on its wall. Vinny looks at the paper he found, and realizes it is the "North Star." Vinny finds more weird papers on the ground. As this happens, the recorder begins to play again, and we hear how 80's Vinny died, being shot by the possessed Dr. Peters. The recording ends, and current Vinny realizes he is in the room where 80's Vinny died. Vinny decides to leave Fairmount, having found the "North Star," what HABIT said would help them fight Slenderman.

On October 30, 2018, the video Half-acre of ash is uploaded. The video begins right after Finding Fairmount, as Vinny went through a doorway and realizes he's somewhere different now. He goes outside and realizes he is no longer on the Fairmount grounds, and all he sees is a burnt up house. He checks his GPS on his phone, and he realizes he is in Alabama (Presumably at Stephanie's old house). He checks his car keys, and realizes his car is very near. It then cuts to HABIT, who is being filmed by one of the unseen cameramen. We see HABIT address the Cameraman, and HABIT tells it many things. HABIT confirms that the guys have been living through many past Iterations, and he is getting tired of it all being the "same." HABIT then revels things have "changed" because of Corenthal, and he wants to change too.

We then see Dr. Corenthal asking Evan if he is hurt. Corenthal tells Evan that "shit is coming down" and that Evan needs to get to the "tower" very soon. We then see Jeff and Evan near the power line tower previously seen in 77of76.avi. Jeff asks Evan what he should "say," Evan tells him to say "stop watching." We see Corenthal telling them they have to make the "connection" in order to stop something bad from happening. This footage seems to be coming from the Candleverse.

We then cut back to Vinny who is returning to New Jersey. Vinny has noticed that things seem quiet since he has gained the "North Star" symbol speculating it somehow makes him invisible to Slenderman. Vinny then gets a text from an unknown number that contains coordinates, telling him to come if he's still alive.

The next day, the video The day the world ended is uploaded on Halloween 2018.

Vinny finds himself in a cabin in a forest, with HABIT out front with a shotgun. Vinny asks what their next move is, and HABIT tells him he's dying. Vinny doesn't believe HABIT is going to kill him because of his "plan." HABIT then tells him he did have a plan, but Vinny messed it up because he didn't find what HABIT needed, so he's going to kill him now. But Vinny says he did find the North Star, but HABIT doesn't believe him. But HABIT does believe him when Vinny shows him the drawing of the North Star he found. HABIT tells Vinny they're about to have "a lot of fun."

We then see Dr. Corenthal trying to call someone as he is being filmed by one of the Cameramen (Who he addresses as 151). Corenthal then reveals he's trying to contact Vinny.

We see Vinny come out of a bathroom, having shaved his head. He and HABIT are also being filmed by one the Things, HABIT says that he will be filming everything while HABIT & Vinny prepare, and HABIT says everything has to be documented.

They are interrupted by someone calling Vinny's phone, who turns out to be Corenthal. Corenthal warns Vinny to stop what he is doing, that it's the wrong course of action. Vinny doesn't understand, and believes this is the only way to stop Slenderman. Corenthal begs him to not to do it, that it will "wipe out everything." Vinny refuses and hangs up.

Vinny then starts talking to HABIT again, asking him where they are. HABIT reveals they're in Corenthal's old cabin, which is in a weird "state of flux" (Not unlike the property at Baldpate). HABIT then says they need to get ready. Vinny then asks about photos he finds of him and his friends, HABIT explains how the "lie" that is Vinny's life is "alive" and creates "evidence" of the lie. HABIT tells Vinny he might have an actual life if all goes according to plan.

We then see HABIT train Vinny in a montage set to the old EverymanHYBRID theme. HABIT then shows Vinny an iron brand of the North Star. HABIT says they will heat the iron up in a fire and then brand a knife HABIT has.

HABIT and Vinny sit around a fire as the North Star brand heats up. We hear strange sounds that come from the woods. HABIT tells Vinny they need two things for the symbol, fire and suffering. HABIT says Vinny has brought the suffering for it, as he has suffered so much. HABIT tells Vinny "nothing in this Universe" wants him to make this weapon to kill Slenderman, and to ignore everything around him. HABIT tells Vinny to channel all of the horrific things he has experienced into the North Star as he brands the knife with it.

Vinny and HABIT are then inside again at a table. HABIT explains to Vinny how powerful the knife is now that it's been infused with the power of the North Star. HABIT says it can now bring "mortality to immortality." HABIT says if he was cut with the knife, it would be very painful for him. If Vinny were to get cut, it would be certain death.

A few days later, the penultimate video is uploaded, All good things. As an unseen cameraman films Vinny holding a shotgun, prepared for battle. HABIT then tells Vinny that he was never going to kill Slenderman. Instead, HABIT takes the branded knife and throws it into the forest, before also taking Vinny's glasses, making it so he can barely see. HABIT tells Vinny he actually wants him to kill Evan with the knife (As that is the only thing that can kill him now), and Vinny will probably die as a result. This was all to start a new cycle, but only Vinny can do that himself by killing Evan.

HABIT leaves Evan's body, and precedes to attack Vinny. Evan then revels that he has found out what Vinny has "done." Vinny has actually been under the influence of Slenderman all along. Vinny put the hidden cameras inside their houses, and led Alex to his death. All under the orders of Slenderman. He was also (presumably) the one who came up with the idea to put "Slenderman" in their original fitness videos. This is why Vinny continued to push Evan and Vinny earlier in the series to keep making videos. This was all presumably to help Slenderman spread to more people, which HABIT didn't want for some unknown reason. This confirms the prophecy written in the Everyman book, as Vinny fulfilled the role of the VOYEUR, with Evan as the FIREBRAND and Jeff as the GUARDIAN.

Vinny and Evan continue to brawl, as old footage is interspersed into the video. Vinny tries to apologize to Evan, but nothing stops him. Evan says he doesn't want to kill Vinny, but he has do it for betraying them.

Evan is almost finished with Vinny, but Vinny eventually gets the upper hand by finding the knife and stabbing Evan in the side. Evan at first thinks he won't die, but eventually realizes he will as he begins to collapse. Vinny grabs the shotgun, and calls Evan the true monster for the things he has done while under the control of HABIT. Vinny then shots him.

But Evan hasn't died yet. As his last act, Evan grabs the knife, and throws it at Vinny. While he seemingly misses at first, Vinny realizes the knife nicked his head. Vinny starts to die, and crawls towards Evan, laying down next to his body.

Vinny's last words are "I don't know if we're monsters, or just a couple of unlucky bastards. Sorry." The video ends.

On December 30th, Rabbit #61 (aka DixieWolf) wakes up to find the seventh and final box in her closet (Making her the winner of the Seven Trials). It contained a few items, including the third Princeton Tape.

The third Princeton Tape seemed to be more recordings of the 1980's Vinny as he continues to search for answers before his death. He gains help from a man named Roger. But Vinny eventually finds out that the Iteration Theory is true, and that he is doomed to be responsible for his friends death many times over, even if he can't remember it. But he does find out that Dr. Corenthal is in fact a previous version of himself that somehow survived his own Iteration cycle, and he might eventually change things and break the cycle. But it will be a very slow process, and Vinny will still have to go through the cycle many times.

The next day, on New Year's Eve 2018, the final EverymanHYBRID video is uploaded, Introductions.

Vinny wakes up after his death in the Candleverse version of the tree in Baldpate. Dr. Corenthal, Jeff, and Evan greet him and help him up. They are being filmed by another unseen cameraman. "We'll Meet Again" by Johnny Cash plays over the video.

Vinny tearfully apologizes to Dr. Corenthal for not heeding his advice to stop listening to HABIT. Dr. Corenthal forgives him. Dr. Corenthal takes the camera from the unseen cameraman, and asks Vinny what they should do with it. Vinny tells him "We don't need it." Dr. Corenthal puts down the camera, and we see him and the Hybrids walk off into the distance, awaiting the next cycle.

The series ends.

Backstory Summary[]

The following is the story of Dr. James Corenthal and his wife Maryann that took place before the series started in 2010. It is told through various found documents in chronological order.

Dr. James Corenthal was a child psychiatrist, specializing in traumatized children, who worked at the Fairmount Children's Home in Ohio. Four of the patients in his care there shared first names with the primary cast members of EMH: Vince, Jeff, Evan and Stephanie. We learn his story through various reports, letters, journal entries, etc. from his life.

The first chronological report is from May 1971. Corenthal reports to his colleague Dr. Adam Roberts. Corenthal believes they shouldn't admit a patient named Vincent for two reasons. Firstly, because they already have a patient named Evan from the same town and he isn't sure what effect having both of them together will be. Secondly, a doctor specializing in "Post Traumatic/Sexual Deviation" cases recently departed the Children's Home, and Corenthal believes they are ill-equipped to treat Vincent. Vinny was molested by a Reverend for a year, before one day his parents came to pick him up from the Reverend's house. Vincent was found covered in blood, with the Reverend's eviscerated body nearby. Vinny told his parents that "the Reverend didn't know that the Man doesn't share." Corenthal believes they won't be able to help treat the trauma caused by this horrific memory.

In a report from November 1971, Corenthal writes about the previously mentioned patient Evan, also referred to as HABIT, a nickname his mother supposedly gave him. He is again addressing Dr. Adam Roberts. Evan is a very violent child, who is forbidden any pointed objects because he has already stabbed a nurse to death with a fork. He has also recreated Jesus Christ's Crucifixion with dead rabbits. One part of Evan's treatment was to give him a Polaroid camera to create a picture diary with. This seemed to help him a lot, and the Children's Home considers releasing him. Corenthal believes he shouldn't be released yet, as there is still more to be done treatment-wise. Corenthal also complains that he has not slept well in awhile due to treating Evan, as he very much disturbs Corenthal.

In a report from December 1971, Dr. Corenthal again addresses Dr. Roberts. Corenthal is worried that another patient of his, Jeff, isn't improving. Jeff is another patient from the "Pennsylvania mining town" and he seems to only get along with the other 3 children from the same town. He keeps having night terrors, likely caused by the traumatic experience of his father killing both his mother and older sister, before killing himself on Christmas. His father last words were telling Jeff "The Man made me do it." Corenthal suggests giving the four patients their own room to sleep in, as Jeff's night terrors keep waking the other children up, and close proximity to the other 3 seem to help him. The fourth patient that isn't named is a girl named Stephanie.

According to a journal entry from 1975, Dr. Corenthal and his wife Maryann have now adopted the four patients from Centralia (A Pennsylvania town that was abandoned after a fire started in the coal mines under it). Dr. Corenthal writes about how occasionally all four children (Jeff, Evan, Vinny, and Stephanie) will suffer a "group relapse" and seclude themselves from their adopted parents. The most recent one was frightening for them. Maryann discovered the children missing, thinking they were going into town to act out a pirate game. But no one has seen them since. After the police were called and a small search began, Corenthal answered a phone call from Jeff. Jeff then puts a Officer Matten on the line, and the Officer explains to Dr. Corenthal that the children were found in Memory Town, PA, over three thousand miles east of their home in Ohio. The Corenthals drive to the town and meet their children in a restaurant with Officer Matten. The children don't know how they ended up there, and Dr. Corenthal believes them. They mention trying to find "hidden treasure" and someone bringing them there in an "instant." Dr. Corenthal is very disturbed by this. (The conversation Corenthal has with his children that he quotes in this journal entry are later repeated by the present day cast in an EMH video.)

A journal entry from Christmas, 1976 has Dr. Corenthal writing about his family. He has left his job at the Children's Home to be with his new family, having enough money with his wife to live comfortably with his children for a while. He claims that since they have moved from their former home near Fairmount, the children have been much better mentally, and they now feel like a family. Corenthal says he had to pay a lot of money for their adoption, but he didn't mind at all. He and Maryann wanted to adopt them after they found out they couldn't conceive children on their own.

The next journal entry is from October, 1980. Dr. Corenthal recounts how he found Stephanie near death in their bathroom along with the rest of his children. He takes her to the emergency room, and he finds out she accidentally overdosed on her medication. She survived, but Corenthal says she hasn't been the same and has been distant from everyone in the family. He notes Evan telling him that it might be better for her to stay quiet, as she won't overdose again. Corenthal is perplexed by Evan's statement.

A year later, in 1981, Dr. Corenthal writes in his journal about the deaths of his children known as The Mining Town Four. He says the last of them have succumbed, but to what they succumbed to he doesn't say. He believe he has failed them as a parent, a doctor, and a protector. But Dr. Corenthal has since adopted another patient, who's name is Linnie. Corenthal says Linnie is in danger too, but her personal demon is more "feral" then the other children's. He says he plans to move east with her, and leave Ohio all together. He hopes this will save Linnie. Corenthal now realizes that there is some "creature" behind his children's deaths and that he wants to learn more.

An article from May 1984 from the Associated Press reports on Dr. Corenthal, calling him a "disgraced doctor" in the headline. The article reports that Corenthal had to go the emergency room after he was attacked in a restaurant by an unnamed assailant who was later released. When asked what he was doing there, Dr. Corenthal says he was looking into the history of his deceased children, but the locals didn't want anything to do with him, which is why he was attacked. The article notes his work at the Fairmount Children's Home and the "troubling incidents involving his adopted (and since deceased) children."

A journal entry from November, 1990 recounts a nightmare Dr. Corenthal had. Dr. Corenthal has been plagued by nightmares about his deceased children for a long time now. The entry implies Linnie has now also disappeared from Dr. Corenthal's life, and he doesn't know if she's alive or dead, or if she's happy now. Corenthal has a nightmare of following a now grown up Linnie traveling through rural Pennsylvania to an abandoned building. Before she goes to that building she stays at the "Logan Inn." Corenthal watches her as she travels to the abandoned building carrying a letter. But Linnie is eventually encounters something that growls at her, and Linnie looks on with fear. Corenthal wakes up before he sees what it is. He calls the Logan Inn, but they say they don't have a record of a Linnie staying with them. Corenthal also mentions a "Rose" and "William" who live in the rural Pennsylvania area he sees in his dream, but he doesn't say who they are to him, but it's possible that they're relatives of his. (The encounter Linnie has in Corenthal's dream is probably what happened to her right before a EMH video in which the Hybrids encounter her dead body. The letter she was carrying is later read in another EMH video.)

The next journal entry was written the month after the previous one. Corenthal says he again dreams about a grown up Linnie meeting with the previously mentioned William. He only hears snippets of their conversation, but William seems to be telling her about her deceased adopted siblings. William warns her to be a careful on a future journey to find someone, possibly involving her dead siblings. This conversation probably happened before Linnie's encounter in the previous journal entry Corenthal wrote. Corenthal also mentions Rose, implying her and William are married and are close to Corenthal's family. Corenthal also mentions in the dream he saw two people he didn't know having sex, flashes of it mixed in with the conversation between William and Linnie.

Around this time, an article in Inquisitive Finds (Princeton University's magazine about paranormal phenomena and unsolved mysteries) about The Mining Town Four is written by the magazine's editor, Roger. We later learn in the third Princeton Tape from Roger that Linnie is a part of the magazine's editorial staff.

An article from June 1993 written by The Associated Press details a banquet in honor of Dr. Corenthal. It reports on how Corenthal was honored by the mayor of Hamilton Township, NJ (The same town the present day EMH cast live in) for his "unclear" research that involves helping many troubled children that Corenthal took on as patients in the town. Dr. Corenthal also announces he will give a generous donation to the town's library. It mentions Maryann being flown in for the event, Corenthal becoming tearful when he saw her.

In two journal entries from July, 1995, Dr. Corenthal goes to Florida for a psychiatrist conference after he was invited by his friend and former colleague Dr. Adam Roberts. Corenthal is not received well at the conference, as there are people studying the cases of his deceased adopted children. His fellow conference attendees believe Corenthal had something to do with their deaths, and he's accused of being a murderer and rapist. While storming out of the conference, Corenthal notices a young boy in a room getting stitches along with a police officer and his mom. Corenthal listens into the conversation, and hears that the boy fell off a park tower after a "Man" told him to jump off it. Dr. Corenthal quickly goes into the room and introduces himself. The boy turns out to be Milo Asher (Cousin of TribeTwelve's Noah Maxwell). The next day, Corenthal goes to Milo's home to talk about what has been troubling him. There, he finds out Milo has been suffering from night terrors and erratic behavior. He tells Dr. Corenthal he has been seeing a very tall man in a dark suit with a featureless face. Corenthal realizes this is the same man who his children claimed to see (And who might've been responsible for their deaths). Corenthal, for the past few years, has been looking for other troubled children who might've encountered the same entity. Corenthal asks Milo if he knows the names of his children and if he's seen them. At first Milo claims he hasn't, but he then strangely tells the Doctor he has seen them and that "They've already been there." Corenthal tries asking Milo more questions, but he claims he doesn't know who the Doctor is talking about. Corenthal then leaves, but on his way out notices a strange piece of black cloth outside the house. Corenthal picks it up, and notices it gives off a strange sensation. He takes it with him for further study.

Later, Dr. Adam Roberts (Who is now a professor at the University of Florida) assigns one of his students to run tests on the piece of black cloth Dr. Corenthal found and report the results. The student is confounded by it, the piece of cloth gives off an unknown source of radiation. The student names this radiation "Sigma Radiation" after the symbol the testing software gives the radiation. Dr. Corenthal comes in and asks the student if they could create a device that could detect the radiation.

Between October, 1998 to June, 1999, a local paper writes articles about a clairvoyant women named Elizabeth who is located in New Hope, Pennsylvania (Near Lambertville). Elizabeth has helped the local police solve many crimes during this time period. Dr. Corenthal might've written a note to Dr. Adam Roberts around this time, asking him to watch the news about Elizabeth, as he believes she'll help them in some way.

In October, 2002, the Associated Press writes an article about the death of a man named Jack Willers (43) in Monroe Township, NJ. Willers was found dead in his garage, showing signs of a long struggle before his death. The police are looking for Dr. Corenthal, as he had visited Willers to talk to his troubled son hours before Jack was found dead. While the police say Corenthal isn't a suspect yet, they want him for questioning. But he has seemingly fled town instead.

An article from December, 2002 says that Elizabeth (identified as a "local criminal psychic consultant") has now started teaching classes at the local community college (Creative Writing and Criminology 101).

An Associated Press article from March, 2003 now says that the "deranged" Dr. Corenthal is wanted in connection of the double homicide of a Drew and Maurene Henson of Bourbon County (There are 3 Bourbon Counties in the US). The couple was found "brutally murdered" in their newly purchased home last month. While there isn't any physical evidence linking him to the crime, Corenthal is wanted because he visited their home to talk to their suicidal daughter hours before they were found murdered.

An article from June, 2005 says that Elizabeth's place of business (One of the oldest buildings in the town) has burnt down to the foundation. The authorities suspect arson to be the cause. Dr. Corenthal is wanted in connection with the fire. Corenthal is now wanted because of his involvement in three dozen open criminal investigations spanning 25 states (Including Pennsylvania and New Jersey). Corenthal's lawyer, William Davidson releases a statement calling for the Doctor to fully cooperate with the authorities, as he hasn't been in contact with Davidson for a few months.

Around the same time, William Davidson sends Corenthal an email trying to get Corenthal to tell him wants going on. The subject line suggests that Corenthal is being charged as a criminal in the state of Ohio. Davidson mentions Elizabeth but doesn't seem to know who she is exactly. Davidson complains that he specializes in real estate and law, not criminal cases, and that he shouldn't have to learn about Corenthal's situation through the local media. He says that he'll still uphold their agreement between them, but asks Corenthal to please contact him as soon as he can.

Also around the same time, Dr. Corenthal writes a letter to Dr. Adam Roberts. Corenthal tells him that they can't meet face-to-face or even call him on a landline. He tells Roberts he'll send him money over an item Corenthal broke. Corenthal says that he feels like a caged rat, and all he wanted to do was help children. He says that they (Probably the authorities) can't see what he's actually trying to do and that he must stop "it."

An August, 2005 article from the Trenton Times reports that Dr. Corenthal is now being actively pursued after he becomes the main suspect in a massacre that took place in a restaurant near Lambertville. Police responded to reports of a riot at the restaurant and found over a dozen bodies. Looking at the security footage in the restaurant, they watched as Corenthal fought off numerous people inside with a gun. The footage shows Corenthal getting into his car and leaving, but the police find his car not too far off from the scene, and the police now believe he's hiding in a state park.

We later learn from a series of messages on the Corenthal's answering machine what really happened that day. We learn that Dr. Corenthal was led into a trap at the restaurant. He was going to meet Elizabeth to ask for her help. But before he got there, he encountered his son, Evan, who he thought was dead. Evan was older in a way not previously seen by Corenthal, but before he could talk to him he vanished. Once Corenthal got to the diner, he received a call from Elizabeth (Who seemed possessed by something) telling him the diner was a set-up. After hanging up, Corenthal is attacked by multiple diner-goers who are possessed to kill him. He is forced to defend himself by shooting at them. He then escapes to a park, where he encounters Slenderman, the entity he believes killed his adopted children. He says goodbye to Maryann before hanging up, ending the message.

A letter written by Maryann is later found at Baldpate. Maryann addresses Corenthal, writing she hasn't seen him for a while and has no idea where he is. She says the day that the attack at the diner happened she was with Adam Roberts's sister Kimberly (Who's voice could also be heard on the phone messages). After looking through Corenthal's abandoned car after it was given back to her by the police, Maryann says she knew he was gone for good after finding a pictures of him and their children. She mentions James having a "protocol" for emergencies, involving an old house they thought of buying and renovating. She wishes James well, knowing she must now forget about him.

The "protocol" mentioned is Dr. Corenthal's plan to escape to the Candleverse when the authorities were closing in on him. Corenthal must have figured out the souls of his deceased adopted children where in there. Corenthal was able to escape into the Candleverse (Or the "Ark") by finding out the old house on Baldpate Mountain was some sort of dimensional nexus (As demonstrated in a few EMH videos).

We see present day Vinny encounter Dr. Corenthal alive in the EMH video "The property" after he goes to the house at Baldpate and is transported to the Candleverse. He tells Vinny he has carved out an "Eden" out of "this hell."

We later see Dr. Corenthal greet Vinny into the Candleverse after his death at the end of the series, walking away with the EMH boys, awaiting the next cycle.

We learn the ultimate truth of who Dr. James Corenthal is in the third Princeton Tape. It is reveled that Corenthal is in fact a previous version of Vincent who some how managed to survive his own Iteration cycle. Because of this, he might have the power to eventually break the Iteration cycles controlled by HABIT and the Slenderman that the EMH cast are trapped in, but it will still take a long time and many cycles before that can happen. A bookmark in the seventh box suggests that the iteration cycles have been going on since at least 1589 C.E.
